Kreative Gardens proposes the installation of Marathon artificial grass within the existing curbed decomposed granite area at the Corey Harris residence in Apple Valley, California. The proposed turf area is approximately 1,400 square feet, following the current irregular layout and using the existing curbing and concrete as defined boundaries. The existing wine red decorative rock outside the turf area will remain in place.
The selected turf, Marathon, is a premium product featuring a 1.57" pile height, 53 oz face weight, 80 oz total weight, 6,600 denier fibers, and a dense 17 stitch rate with 3/8" gauge construction, designed for durability, resilience, and a natural appearance. This product is well-suited for residential applications, including areas intended for children’s play, and is backed by a 16-year manufacturer warranty.
The homeowner will complete the majority of the site preparation, including removal and primary base work. Kreative Gardens will perform finish grading, surface refinement, and compaction where necessary to ensure a smooth and properly prepared surface prior to turf installation.
A key component of this project is the upgrade and integration of the existing French drain system located along the patio edge. The current system consists of a deep trench with gravel at the bottom and a block-bridged void above, which is not structurally suitable for artificial turf. Kreative Gardens will remove the existing block layer, preserve the drainage function, and reconstruct the trench as a layered system. This includes adding additional drainage rock to reduce the void, installing a geotextile separation layer, and placing approximately 2 inches of compacted base material above the drain to create a stable support surface while maintaining proper water flow.
This upgraded approach ensures that the drainage system continues to function effectively while providing the structural integrity required for artificial grass—especially important for a yard intended for young children and future play equipment such as a slide or swing set.
To enhance both performance and safety, this installation will include Camofill premium infill, an encapsulated sand product specifically designed for residential landscapes and children’s play areas. Unlike traditional raw silica sand, Camofill features a coated and treated sand structure that helps reduce dust, minimize migration, and provide a cleaner, more stable surface.
This infill is composed of non-hazardous, inert materials and is not classified as a health risk under normal use conditions, making it a safe and appropriate choice for families with children

. Its rounded granular structure improves comfort underfoot while supporting proper blade stability, helping the turf maintain its natural appearance and resilience over time.
In addition to safety, Camofill also contributes to:
This upgrade ensures that the finished turf area is not only visually appealing, but also clean, comfortable, and family-friendly, supporting the intended use of the space for children’s play and everyday enjoyment.

The finished installation will deliver a clean, durable, and visually appealing turf surface, with properly secured edges, smooth transitions to concrete and curbing, and long-term performance under residential use.
This all-inclusive price covers everything required for a professional and lasting installation — from premium materials and delivery to expert labor, site preparation, and final cleanup. We handle the entire process so you don’t have to coordinate with multiple contractors or worry about hidden fees. What you see is what you pay.
Clients who choose to pay in full at the time of approval enjoy a reduced total. This offer reflects the savings we pass along by avoiding third-party financing and administrative fees — while still delivering the same high-quality results.

Marathon 80 delivers a bold and structured appearance with its vibrant green tones and distinctive W-shaped monofilament blades, designed to mimic freshly mowed natural grass. Engineered for durability, this turf model features a 1.57" pile height and dense 17-stitch rate, supported by a strong double polypropylene backing and polyurethane finish coating. Its 4-tone color palette and beige thatch add depth and realism, while its robust 82oz total weight and >35N tuft bind ensure long-term performance. With a high drainage rate of 60L/m²/min and a 16-year warranty, Marathon 80 is ideal for residential and commercial landscapes demanding a natural look with heavy foot traffic resilience.

Removal of existing rocks, plants, bushes, or debris within the work area by Kreative Gardens is not included.
Primary excavation, demolition, and general base preparation across the main yard area are excluded and will be performed by the homeowner.
Full import and installation of base material throughout the turf area is not included. Only light grading, surface preparation, and compaction where needed will be performed by Kreative Gardens, along with the localized base cap within the French drain upgrade area.
Any additional drainage work beyond the specific French drain improvement described in this proposal is not included.
Correction of unforeseen subsurface conditions, including buried concrete, roots, debris, unstable soils, or drainage issues not visible at the time of estimate, is not included and may require a change order.
Playground equipment, fall protection systems, or structural support for future installations (slides, swing sets, etc.) are not included.
Irrigation, electrical, plumbing, lighting, or utility modifications are not included.
Any work outside the defined turf area within the existing curbing is excluded. Existing decorative rock areas will remain undisturbed.
The homeowner is responsible for completing all agreed-upon preparation work prior to installation, including clearing and preparing the designated turf area.
Kreative Gardens will install the turf within the existing curbing and concrete boundaries and will perform final grading and compaction as needed to achieve a smooth and uniform surface.
The French drain upgrade is a critical component of this project. Its purpose is to preserve drainage performance while eliminating the unsupported void currently present beneath the block system. The upgraded system will consist of additional drainage rock, a geotextile separation layer, and a compacted base cap to provide both water flow and structural support beneath the turf.
This approach prevents future issues such as soft spots, settling, or edge failure, ensuring a stable surface suitable for children’s use and long-term durability.
Due to the nature of homeowner-performed base preparation, final surface conditions may vary slightly. Kreative Gardens will make reasonable adjustments through finish grading and compaction, but overall performance depends on the condition of the prepared base.
